Gems buy looks, or energy: 1 gem gives 0.5 energy (only when the whole 0.5 fits under your maximum). Extra energy means more digs, so more chances; it never changes a dig's odds. Looks never change a dig's odds, energy or payouts. Logged in, gems and looks are kept; as a guest they last for 5 minutes after you close this tab or lose connection.

Blueprints are an optional bonus: they refund energy (and gems from level 3), nothing else. Harder levels have fewer paths that solve them; every dig still has the same hash odds.

Social

Team

Teams share credit and boards. Teammates can gift 1 energy (at most 3 sent and 3 received per 30 minutes, never above the maximum). Gifting energy never changes hash odds: every dig has exactly the same odds; it only moves one more chance to a teammate. The core is still reached by one dig's hash. Logged-in members stay in their team between visits; guests are kept for 5 minutes after they close the tab or lose connection, then they leave it.

Donating gems to the team pool is one-way (up to 5 per world). Only the team leader buys and picks banners. Banners are cosmetic: they never change odds, energy or payouts.

Team streak: blueprints solved by any member within 10 minutes of each other; one missed blueprint or 10 quiet minutes ends it. Badges at 5, 10 and 25 are cosmetic and never change odds or energy.

                          How it works

                          Every dig makes exactly one real SHA-256 block-header hash, and the rocks you pick become its nonce. No rock, ore or blueprint makes a hash more likely to go deep: every dig has exactly the same odds. Solving blueprints (with a bonus for gold or crystal in a solved blueprint) only refunds energy, so you can dig more often. More digs means more chances, nothing more.

                            Letters in a sum count as numbers: a=10 b=11 c=12 d=13 e=14 f=15.

                            Only when the dig also solves the blueprint, at most +1 energy per dig. Never changes a dig's odds.

                            Click or drag across adjacent rocks. Keyboard: Q/E up, A/D sideways, Z/C down, Backspace undoes, Enter digs, Esc clears.

                            Tunnel: 0 rows down

                            Pick 8 adjacent rocks. Their values become the nonce of one real block-header hash.

                            Depth = leading zero bits of the best hash so far. Reach the target and you hit the core.

                            Your tunnel is just where you stand. Digging deeper or sideways does not change your odds.

                            Rocks you dug are open tunnel: you can't dig them again. Start next to any rock you've dug; each next rock must touch the previous one.

                            Logged in, your place and tunnel are kept for the whole world, across reloads and new tabs (the newest tab plays). As a guest they are kept if you reload this tab or reconnect within 5 minutes; a new tab is a new guest. A new world starts everyone at the surface.

                            Log in

                            An account keeps your name, team, gems, looks and energy across visits and devices. It never changes a dig's odds. Guests can keep playing without one.

                            Privacy: we store only your username, a one-way salted hash of your password (never the password itself) or, with Google, just Google's id number for your login, plus your game progress. No email, no name, no picture, no tracking.
